FAQ

1What are double layer water tanks?
Double layer water tanks are made up of 2 layers of plastic overlapping each other & forming a thick layer. It usually consist of 2 colours, with inner layer having light blue or white colour & outer layer having black, yellow, white or any other colour depending upon customers need. All tanks made by Oswal Hitech Pvt. Ltd. are made using virgin polymers with inner layer Food grade & outer layer UV stabilized to ensure maximum safety to health & give maximum life to tank. These are the most economical tanks.
2What are triple layer tanks?
Triple layer water tanks are made up of 3 layers of plastic overlapping each other & forming a thick layer. It usually consist of 3 colours, with inner layer having light blue or white colour for better visibility of water, middle layer with blue, black or any dark colour & outer layer having black, yellow, white or any other colour depending upon customers need. All tanks made by Oswal Hitech Pvt. Ltd. are made using virgin polymers with inner layer Food grade & outer layer UV stabilized to ensure maximum safety to health & give maximum life to tank.
3What are four layer tanks?
Four layer water tanks are made up of 4 layers of plastic overlapping each other & forming a thick layer.
4What is rotational moulding or roto moulding?
Rotomolding is one of the most popular plastic molding techniques. A plastic material, normally in powder form is placed into a hollow mould, usually made from cast aluminium or stainless steel. The mould is closed and rotated slowly on two axis(360 Degree). The mould is then heated in an oven whilst rotating and the polymer gradually melts and ‘lays-up’ on the inside of the mould. Once the polymer powder has fully melted the mould is moved to a cooling station and cooled usually with air and sometimes a fine mist of water. As the mould cools the part solidifies. When the material has finally cooled sufficiently to release away from the mould surface the process is stopped and the product is taken out of the mould (de-moulded).
5What is LLDPE tank?
LLDPE stands for Linear Low Density Poly Ethylene.
The basic raw material used to roto mold water tanks is LLDPE. LLDPE has a high degree of short and long chain branching which gives molten LLDPE its desirable flow properties. It is most suitable material for manufacturing of water tanks using rotational moulding technology.
6What is the difference between LDPE & LLDPE ?
Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) are both inexpensive polymers with widely favourable mechanical and chemical resistance properties. Tubing made from both polymers is broadly used, particularly for water, chemicals and gases. Unlike with many other plastics, plasticizers are seldom necessary to obtain flexible products, such as tubing. Both plastics are highly stable with low toxicity. In fact, many grades can even be used for food-contact and medical applications.
7What is the difference between LLDPE Tanks & HDPE Tanks ?
LLDPE tanks are made using rotational moulding technology, whereas HDPE tanks are made using blow moulding technology.
When compared to durability of tank, LLDPE tanks are much more durable then HDPE tanks when exposed to sunlight. HDPE tanks are unbreakable but when exposed to direct sunlight HDPE tanks may get crack due to hardness of material. LLDPE remains same even after exposing it to heavy sunlight.
HDPE tanks are much lighter in weight as compared to LLDPE tanks.
HDPEE tanks are much cheaper then LLDPE tanks as production & raw material cost is less in HDPE tanks.
8What is antimicrobial tank?
Antimicrobial technologies prevent the growth of bacteria that lead to unwanted odors and stains and help to extend the life of the water storage tank.
Note - It does not stops formation of algae in water tank.
9How to stop formation of algae in water tank?
With the right tank, you can nip the problem of algae before it starts. When it comes to plastic water tanks colour matters. Algae grow when sunlight enters inside tank. Opaque tanks block out sunlight completely, thus inhibiting the growth of algae in your water supply. Keeping tank lid closed all the time & choosing dark colour tanks can make all the difference.
10What are different materials available in water storage tanks?
Water storage containers are available in plenty of materials, most commonly being plastic, concrete or steel.
These water storage tanks come in a variety of sizes to suit your family or community size.
Steel - steel tanks can be quite expensive and are susceptible to corrosion.
Cement - Concrete options are resilient, but they are extremely heavy and typically require expensive machinery to put in them place.
Plastic - Plastic residential water tanks are the most affordable and lightweight option of the three popular materials.
11What is the difference between UV Stabilized and UV Resistant?
UV Stabilized means a process in which a stabilizer is added to the resin to allow it to protect the substance from the long-term degradation from UV light. UV stabilizers work by absorbing or screening out UV radiation and preventing damage.
UV Resistant materials by nature resists UV rays and prevent UV degradation.
12Why is UV Stabilization done in plastic water tanks?
UV stabilization is done in water tanks as most of plastic tanks are placed on roof which are directly exposed to sunlight.
Sunlight has harmful UV rays which may degrade tank & crack can be occurred leaving a leakage on tank.
UV Stabilization helps in preventing degradation of tank & ensuring that there is no crack or loss in physical properties of tank when exposed to sunlight.
